Sweet Education nominated for Mental Health and Wellbeing Award!

We are excited to share with you that our Personal Growth and Wellbeing Resource has been shortlisted for the Best Education Service or Product at The Mental Health & Wellbeing Wales Awards!

To make the shortlist for such a fantastic award makes the whole team here at Sweet feel very proud, and also incredibly grateful to all of our amazing customers and supporters for helping us get here. THANK YOU!

The judges said they had an extremely difficult job, with over 200 entries - wow!

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on World Mental Health Day (10th October). Best of luck to all of the brilliant finalists, and wish us luck for the big day!

Free Personal and Social Development Workbooks

As you may remember, the Sweet Personal and Social Development (PSD) course is no longer available as a qualification.

We do, however, have a limited number of PSD workbooks available to centres who would like to use them as PS(H)E resources for younger learners. We will be giving the books away at no cost - all you need to pay is postage. The books are available in English and Welsh, and are still perfect for supporting the delivery of the PS(H)E and RSE curriculum.

The free books will be available until December 2022, and will be provided on a first come first served basis. If you are interested in receiving any of these books, please email us at info@sweet.education to let us know what you would like!

Useful Resources

Black History Month 2022

October is Black History Month, and this year the theme is “Time for Change: Action Not Words.”

“To get to a better tomorrow, we can’t just focus on the past. The past is in the past. We can acknowledge and learn from it, but to improve the future, we need action, not words. We need to come together around a shared common goal to achieve a better world for everyone. To ensure real change, we need real support from our allies. It’s time to reset your mindset and support us with actions, not words.”

Sweet have created a number of free worksheets available to download and print to help explore Black History Month with your students, including:

  • Black History Month

  • World Refugee Day

  • World Teachers’ Day

Head over to www.sweet.education/worksheets to view the full range. You can also find our worksheets on Hwb and TES.

If you’re already working on the Sweet Personal Growth and Wellbeing Qualification, this could be a great month to work on Book 5: This Is Me, where your students will explore how our personal identity is shaped and influenced, what makes us unique, attitudes, beliefs, values and learning how to empathise with others.
